For the most part churches seek to have elders who are diversified in gifting and abilities. Some may be gifted in preaching and vision casting, others in discipleship, all though are wise to continue learning and growing as they serve the body they have been called to.
For me, God has called me to serve the local body by utilizing the gifts of communicating, administrating, and implementing the mission and vision of the church. This is often labeled as an Executive or Administrative Pastor.
In the upcoming weeks I will highlight some wonderful books, tools, and practices that I have learned or am learning to effectively fulfill God's call to serve the local body.
For now, check out Jeremy Linneman's posts on Executive Pastor leadership development. Jeremy is the Pastor of Community Life at Sojourn Community Church in Louisville, KY. He provides a list of resources for those desiring to become Executive Pastors (here) and another for those who just begin in their new roles (here).
Stay tuned for more resources.
